3 Ways to Overcome Social Media Exhaustion and Fatigue
Jul 26, 2021Hey Beautiful!
It is time to let go of strategies that don’t help you make money in your business.
As a purpose-driven entrepreneur and a money coach, it makes me cringe to hear marketing gurus and podcasters say that you need to post daily on social media.
I am sorry to say but using these types of strategies can quickly turn social media into a full-time job.
It is just not sustainable to post every day on social media. Also, let's remember that being on social media does not always translate into new clients or new students for our course.
I mean, you already work so hard on:
- creating your offers and website,
- designing freebies,
- making insightful free content to support your community
You are not in business to work for social media platforms like Instagram.
As a business owner, we go on social media to create a community around our business and bring more clients for our business.
So today I want to demystify this whole idea about posting on social media.
AND I want to share with you key elements you need to focus on when deciding your social media strategy. So that posting on platforms like Instagram can be an asset for your business instead of a full-time job.
There needs to be a strategic way to share our content on social media in a soulful way that actually energizes us as well as our audience.
Maybe this is an anti-marketing attitude, but I believe posting on social media should be a joyful experience in our business instead of a daily task that we need to do!
Also, posting just for the sake of it does not translate into connecting with potential clients or increases in sales in our business.
Sometimes, we are even told to post several times a day for more sales. If that was true, you would be making as much money as you post.
You do all of these hoping that people will buy from you 🤞🏾.
Today, I share more about why you want to let go of these strategies and what to do instead.
Here are 3 reasons why these strategies don't work:
• Posting daily or several times a day creates content burnout for your audience.
• You quickly become overwhelmed and that causes you to be inconsistent.
• You are focused on coming up with new content ideas instead of creating a clear strategy to increase revenues in your business.
Are you nodding out there because you can relate? Raise your hand if that's you - 🙋🏾♀️ (no one will see you😊).
If this is you, the first thing to do is to pick a scheduling time.
1- How often are you comfortable posting on social media?
This needs to be sustainable because if you are not consistent, your audience will not connect with you. It can be two times a week or three times a week.
It is not about being on social media daily; It is about building trust with your audience through consistency.
I have some clients who only post twice per week but their posts are so valuable that their audience is tuned in for more.
2 – Pick one platform to master and focus on creating your community on that platform first.
Having one platform as your primary platform can simplify your strategy so much.
Each platform is different, so it is important to give yourself time to master it and create a community of fans that will follow you to the other platforms once you are ready.
*Pick a platform where your people hang out.
3 – Pick a type of delivery. What I mean by that statement is to do what comes easily to you.
If being on camera is easy for you, focus on video content.
If writing is best for you, create content that is in written form.
*Pick a platform that enhances your natural abilities instead of trying to conform to a platform where you have to struggle to be.
When you feel energized and happy about what you do, it shows on the content that you share with your community.
Energy sells, my friend!
