Let's talk Instagram Engagement and Conversion

No matter where you are in your business journey,  Instagram can be a great asset for your business. But Instagram can be super confusing and intimidating platform. 

As I am starting a new Instagram Account @nina.e.crawford, I am using the lessons I learned from growing my IG account CleanFreshBeauty to over 11k engaged followers.

 So in today's post, I am sharing the 10 burning Instagram questions for engagement and conversion!

1. What to do when you have very little time in your schedule to be on Instagram?

Simplify your Instagram content creation process, so you can focus on engagement. Engagement will bring you clients. Create 5 to 9 Instagram post templates using canva and batch your content. Then, use a content scheduler like Later.com or Tailwind.com to preschedule your content. I use Later.com. Also, it is key to  repurpose your content. 

2. How to find my audience on Instagram?

1 - Find your audience using hashtags they might use. People use hashtags in two ways. First, they use hashtags to identify themselves. Second, they use hashtags to reach out new audiences. The strategy here is to find the hashtag using Instagram search icon at the bottom of your page.

Example: If you are a wedding photographer, look for #weddinggoals to find your audience.

3. How to get people to my list from Instagram?

I use this simple strategy that is super effective -

1- Survey your audience in the DMs to find out what they need and what is their pain points and aspirations.

2 - Create a freebie to help to solve your audience current most common pain point or aspiration.

3 - Share about your freebie in your stories as often as you can with a link to your bio to download you freebie. (If you feel called to it. Share your freebie with people in the DMs)

4. How To create content that gets more engagement?

Use these three steps

  • create content that matches the needs of your audience
  • engage your audience content in the feed and story, so they know you exist 
  • Reach out to your audience in the DM and refine your content based feedback 

5. How to build Interest that converts into paid clients?

The first step here is to create relevant content to engage your current audience. Make sure to create a captivating caption: a 3-5 word captions that gives the key benefit your reader will get out of reading your Instagram caption.  *we covered how to find your audience earlier. Step two: reply to every comment in your posts.

Step three: share about your post in your stories then add a sticker with a question.

Step four: engage with anyone who comments in their stories; that will lead you to having a DM conversation with them. conversation in the DMs can quickly move your followers to lead and then to paid clients. 

6. How about the algorithm?

Posts that are saved and shared are seen as the most valuable type of content right now by the algorithm. Instagram is all about keeping interesting content on the platform. So, this means that your content needs to be super relevant to your audience a.k.a niched down. Focus on serving and engaging with your people and in return, they will make your content valuable by engaging with it. 

7 - Where to start on Instagram if you are new at it?

Make sure your account is switched to a business account. You can do this by going in your setting: tap the top right three menu line, then settings  at the bottom right, then Account, and finally switch account type at the end. 

Be consistent create content consistently and 

8- How often to post?

In terms of posting schedule: stay consistent no mater how often you post; post in your feed every few days; post in your stories everyday. If you stop being consistent, get back at it and give it some time for your content to show up in your followers feeds. 

9 - How to increase my engagement?

The golden rule on Instagram: engage more than you post. For people to engage with your content, they need to know that you exist and connect with your content. So engage with your audience by setting a notification to be one of the first person to like their post. Then, write a meaningful comment on their post.

To set up a notification: go to someone's profile, then tap on the belt on top right corner, finally pick which type (s) of notification you want to receive. 

10 - How to get results from Instagram?

Take it to the DMs; this is where deeper connection and sales happen; Message your followers through their stories to start a conversation in the DM. You can also use the DM to continue a conversation started in the comment. I spent most of my time in the DMs.
